Abstract
PT. Pertamina Hulu Mahakam produces natural gas and oil in seven sites in Balikpapan, Indonesia. To meet water needs in its operation, the company has several water treatment plants (WTP). This study aims at analyzing the WTP processes and systems at each site. Based on laboratory analysis results, it was found that the WTP effluents were still adhering to applicable standards. However, some of the parameters (TSS and total coliform) almost exceeded the threshold limits, hence it was recommended to improve the maintenance, upgrade, or add additional water treatment units.
